Arrow Senior Living Spreads the Word of the Year

Every year around this time, I ask everyone at Arrow Senior Living to pick a “Word of the Year.” The goal is to look inward and consider what we each need more of and what might improve our lives. Sometimes we need more focus or clarity. Sometimes we need more compassion. Sometimes we just need more fun!

Examples of words individuals have chosen in the past include clarity, confidence, intentional, commitment, consideration, and receptiveness.

My word of 2022 was present. I love that word. I was deeply committed to that word in 2022 and being present positively impacted my life in every way.

Looking forward to 2023, Arrow Senior Living is not only asking the management staff to come up with words for themselves, but they are also asking them to come up with words for their senior living communities. Picking a word for both them and their community is a commitment to doing work on themselves individually and the “we” and “us” work we want to do as a community.

What is YOUR WORD? I hope you will pick one too. What is your life missing heading into 2023? What does “future you” thank you for working on now? Our words are meant to inspire us. If it is not inspiring, it’s not the right word.
