National Assisted Living Week is a special time when assisted living communities come alive with celebrations that bring residents together. It’s a chance to share stories, make memories, and enjoy events that show the strong bond among residents, caregivers, and families.
This year, the theme is Season of Reflection. Arrow Senior Living takes great joy in creating assisted living communities that overflow with enthusiasm for life and that cherish the value of individuals. Shining a spotlight on the many ways and people bringing this dream to life is both necessary and an honor.
At Arrow, we are honoring residents’ lives and experiences by celebrating National Assisted Living Week with a fun-filled Spirit Week, with each day highlighting a different decade and a different department. Residents and staff alike will have a blast dressing according to each day’s fashion decade and taking part in memory teasing games and events. As the Resident Services Coordinator, I am most excited about seeing the hundreds of photos showing how creative and life-giving Arrow Senior Living communities can be and what makes us unique. The relationships formed in the assisted living communities mean the world to us!
Season of Reflection reminds me of the need to slow down and appreciate our individual paths, from where we began to where we are now. We all have family stories, work stories, and stories that began when we entered the assisted living life, but we often don’t take the time to savor those moments. Some of the most precious encounters I have ever had with residents are the times when we shared our histories and honestly reflected on how our journeys shaped who we are today. We have so much to learn from each other!
It’s not only a time to celebrate, but also an opportunity to appreciate the staff and volunteers who make assisted living communities what they are today! This week highlights the power of connections, memories, and the spirit of togetherness that makes every resident feel at home.
