As Regional Culinary Director at Arrow Senior Living, I approach each day with passion—not just purpose. I face new challenges, hear new stories, and find fresh reasons to feel grateful. I’m excited to share how I arrived in this role, what fuels my dedication, and what a typical day looks like in our community. My work goes beyond preparing meals. It centers on building connections, creating purpose, and making a real difference where it counts.
My journey into senior living began in 2007, when I was seeking a role that allowed me to use my culinary skills in a more meaningful way. Once I entered the senior living space, I quickly realized food’s impact extended far beyond nutrition—it creates a sense of home, comfort, and joy. That realization drew me in. Over time, I advanced from Culinary Director to Regional Culinary Director, a role that allows me to influence dining programs on a larger scale and help teams deliver exceptional experiences for residents.
Before joining Arrow, I built a strong foundation in culinary operations, team leadership, and high standards for food quality and service in the restaurant industry. Transitioning into senior living, I brought that same passion, but my motivation shifted. In restaurants, it’s about the meal; in senior living, it’s about the person.
My favorite part of working in senior living is the deep connections formed with residents and team members. Over time, you truly become like family. You’re not just serving meals—you’re sharing moments, listening to stories, and becoming part of daily lives.
As a Regional Culinary Director, my priority each day is to connect with the culinary team and engage with residents. I believe in leading through support and presence, not just oversight. Checking in with the team helps me understand what they need to succeed—whether it’s resources, guidance, or encouragement. Conversations with residents keep me grounded in our purpose. Their feedback, stories, and appreciation fuel everything we do.
My advice to anyone considering a culinary career in senior living is to lead with heart. This isn’t just another culinary job—it’s about creating meaningful experiences. Strong culinary and leadership skills are essential, but what sets this career apart is the personal connection you form with those you serve.
For me, success means both residents and culinary teams feel supported, valued, and cared for. It’s not only about perfect meals or flawless operations—it’s about the people.
At day’s end, I take the greatest pride in knowing I’ve contributed something meaningful—whether it’s a favorite dish, a heartfelt conversation, or a comforting moment. Thank you for welcoming me into your community and allowing me to serve at your table. I’m truly honored.
